Lysa Uwizeyimana specializes in climate change mitigation and adaptation with a focus on developing countries at the Yale School of the Environment. She honed on these skills while working as an environmental engineer and consultant for an international consulting firm in Rwanda. One of her major projects was helping draft the strategic environmental assessment of the mining sector in Rwanda with the goal of formulating recommendations for the country’s Ministry of Environment. This year, she joined The Forests Dialogue at Yale where she is organizing a multi-stakeholder dialogue around the restoration of a degraded landscape in Mangai, DRC and currently supports the Environmental Leadership and Training Initiative (ELTI) with delivering online courses in Forest Landscape Restoration in Togo and Madagascar.
