Attend the Matriculation ceremony at Battell Chapel and President’s reception for New Graduate School Students and their guests. This is for new students in GSAS degree programs and for Exchange and Special students (other VARS need not attend). Before and after lunch, new GSAS students will attend required Professional Ethics Orientation workshops (assigned session locations and times to be announced). We host the Dean’s picnic lunch at the McDougal Center Courtyard for new students and their guests (no tickets or signups required).
As the Matriculation Ceremony Hall is not air-conditioned, and lunch is in an outdoor tent, comfortable dressy clothing appropriate to the weather, and comfortable walking shoes, are suggested. Caps and gowns are not required for students (faculty and deans do process in academic attire).
